COUNCIL OF FELLOWS
Role of Council
The Council of Fellows is composed of senior
scientific/technical representatives from each NGI member academic
institution, as well as the NOAA NGI Science Advisor, and the NOAA CI
Program Manager. The Council is chaired by the NGI Director, and the vice
chair is the USM representative. The Council of Fellows is responsible for
development of the IP and its biannual review by the Advisory Council. It
will conduct an Annual Program Assessment and Report to NOAA, and oversees
the Annual NGI Work Plan. It will receive overarching guidance from the
Executive Council, and will build the Annual Work Plan based on needs
assessments and recommendations from the Advisory Council. This group will
also be responsible for ensuring that the highest quality research is
conducted, both through stringent project review prior to implementation and
through monitoring progress of these projects once initiated.
