Biography
John Cartwright is an Assistant Extension Professor at the GeoResources Institute (GRI) at the High Performance Computing Collaboratory (HPC2) of Mississippi State University. Dr. Cartwright received his Ph.D. in Earth and Atmospheric Science from Mississippi State University. His B.S. was concentrated in professional geology and his M.S. focused on the use of geospatial technologies for watershed management (as a NOAA Graduate Research Fellow at the Weeks Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve). He is currently the Director of the Geospatial Education and Outreach (GEO) Project, a collaborative effort of GRI, the Mississippi State University Extension Service, and the Northern Gulf Institute. The project serves as Mississippi's primary source of geospatial education and technical information, providing training and support in the use, application, and implementation of geospatial technologies.
