This Webinar will focus on what works in mentoring undergraduate researchers. A panel of experienced graduate student mentors will talk about their mentoring styles and give examples of approaches to specific researchers to participate.
Topics will include:
· Fostering independence in undergraduate researchers,
· Successful work and meeting schedules,
· Keeping students motivated,
· Responsibilities of graduate student mentors in passing on research ethics and conventions of the discipline,
· Strategies for dealing with problems or issues.
Space is limited! The Webinar is limited to 25 log-ins. Registration will be on a first come, first serve basis or until Monday April 22, 2013, when registration will be closed. To maximize participation, we strongly encourage individuals at the same institution to promote classroom-style or conference room viewing whereby groups of viewers can participate via one log-in.
